After waking up in your cozy, adobe-style room at the Rosewood Inn of the Anasazi, you begin the day with a Southwestern breakfast of green chile roasted potatoes, eggs and chorizo. After lingering awhile over your espresso, you're ready to head out into New Mexico's stylish capital.

Your first stop is the nearby Loretto Chapel (207 Old Santa Fe Trail) to see its Miraculous Staircase. This twenty-foot-tall, tightly wound helix is a mastery of woodworking, constructed without iron nails and with wood that wasn't native to the area. It is said the staircase's mystery craftsman was sent by St. Joseph in response to the Loretto nuns' prayers; miraculous or not, it is a beautiful thing to behold.

Next you head toward Canyon Road, where you'll meet your guide for a walking tour of this renowned arts district. Strolling down the historic and picturesque sidewalks, you'll learn how this area became a major art market that's densely populated by galleries. Displayed both in and outside of Canyon Road's gorgeous Pueblo and Territorial-style buildings, you'll see art of all kinds on this interactive tour.

By now you've worked up an appetite, so you hop in a cab for a short ride west to Opuntia (1607 Alcaldesa). There, you enjoy a vegetable-forward lunch and peruse handcrafted offerings like Whiskey and Clay ceramics. Needing to satisfy your sweet tooth, you next pop into Sky Coffee (1609a Alcaldesa) for some caffeine and a Whoo's blue corn blueberry lavender donut. Both shops are located in the vibrant Railyard Arts District, Canyon Road's louder and younger sibling that's less well known to tourists.

Heading north, you now make your way to where the Georgia O'Keefe Museum (217 Johnson) and New Mexico Museum of Art (107 W Palace) stand just blocks apart. You marvel at the opportunity to view so many works of Georgia O'Keefe, one of the 20th century's most significant artists and a trailblazing woman. And even if you don't have time for a full visit, the New Mexico Museum of Art is worth seeing for the building alone. Open since 1917, this iconic and earthy structure is an example of the blended Native American and Spanish Colonial styles. You photograph it from nearly every angle before moving on.

Having witnessed so much art in Santa Fe, you're now ready to shop for some! Curated by fifth-generation art dealer Jed Foutz of the Navajo Nation, Shiprock (53 Old Santa Fe Trail) is a shop and gallery so eclectically beautiful you'll have a difficult time deciding which Navajo rugs, Pueblo pottery, local sculptures or mid-century furniture you want to take home. You decide to make it easier on yourself by visiting at least twice more during your stay.

After a few restorative hours at your hotel, you're off to Paloma (401 S Guadalupe) for dinner, a hip yet unpretentious spot for upscale Mexican fare. In their small and playful dining room, you set about first ordering a margarita (their mezcal and tequila lists are extensive), then choose from their Oaxacan-inspired menu. You follow the Green Chile Queso with Pasilla Braised Shortribs, Cauliflower Tacos and a slice of Horchata Cheesecake. Then decide heck, you'll go for the Churros, too.

Back at the Rosewood Inn of the Anasazi, you indulge in a nightcap in their lounge, opting for one of their many premium tequilas. The day comes to a close next to the kiva fireplace in your room, bundled under a newly-purchased Navajo blanket from Shiprock....
