Time Away in Music City

With so much to see and do, this might be your first of many trips to Nashville! Here’s how to spend a long weekend in Music City that’ll suit any generation.
Day One
3:00 PM
3:00 PM Check in at The Thompson Nashville. This luxurious boutique hotel is ideally located in The Gulch, one of the city's coolest and most central neighborhoods.

4:45 PM
4:45 PM Your hours of travel have induced big appetites, so good news! Dinner is just a short walk away at Peg Leg Porker Barbeque. This super family-friendly joint
serves up some of Nashville's best barbeque, with sides like mac and cheese that the kids go crazy for.
Day Two
8:30 AM
8:30 AM Breakfast is at Marsh, a popular local restaurant inside The Thompson Nashville. In no time at all your table will be covered in stacks of blueberry pancakes,
brisket hash and crunchy fried chicken with biscuits.
10:15 AM
10:15 AM A 5-minute car ride brings you to the Nashville Adventure Science Center, a place so engaging, it's hard to know if the kids or adults will enjoy it more; explore exhibits like the Augmented Reality Physiology Mirror, a Flight Full Motion Simulator, the Physics of Light and Space Chase.
12:45 PM
12:45 For lunch, you're headed down to Nashville's 12south neighborhood to grab sandwiches at Frothy Monkey cafe. Then it's time for a stroll through 12south in search of treasure (aka photos opps at some of the city's best murals). If anyone needs a snack, there's always 100-layer donuts from Five Daughters Bakery (complete with its own donut-themed mural).
Day Three
9:30 AM
9:30 AM: This morning is all about the love - Biscuit Love, that is. Close to the hotel, this bustling breakfast joint makes some of the flakiest biscuits in the south (meaning you'll probably want to grab a few more to go).
10:45 AM
10:45 AM: With a late afternoon flight home (and late check-out available at the hotel), you've got time for one more outing. This is the perfect chance to learn more about Music City with a visit to The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. They've got plenty of outstanding youth programming, so you'll have fun paying homage
to legendary artists like DeFord Bailey, Hank Williams, Patsy Cline, Willie Nelson and Dolly Parton. Not to mention the goods you'll want to pick up at the adjacent
Hatch Show Print, a working letterpress shop that's been open since 1879!
4:00 PM
4:00 PM You've had a busy day, so it's back to the hotel for some R&R. Dinner is just down the street at The Mockingbird, where the food is excellent and the menu
puns plentiful.
7:00 PM
7:00 PM When in Rome, the colosseum is a must. In Nashville, it's the Grand Ole Opry! Enjoy a live music show at this iconic venue, then - if the grandkids are old
enough to handle a later bedtime - a peek behind the scenes with a post-show backstage tour.
