Built during the 14th Century, the property once served as a 'chateau' for bishops awaiting audience with the popes of Avignon. Tastefully restored during the 19th Century, the 'chateau' was returned to its original splendor, but with newly added modern conveniences of 11 bedrooms, each air-conditioned and with en-suite bathrooms. One can delight in the charm and warmth of its glorious past while enjoying the high standards of a luxury hotel. This 750 sqm property comfortably sleeps 20 persons.
On the ground floor of the castle is a spacious vaulted living room with a fireplace and plenty of comfortable seating. Off the living room is a cozy library corner. There is a fully-equipped Provencal kitchen with all appliances, plenty of preparation space and a large dining table. A separate dining room leads to a covered outdoor dining area and beyond, a large open patio. There is also a powder room and laundry room on this floor and a cozy double bedroom with en-suite bathroom.

The chateau's facade is adorned with Virginia creeper and the garden is a lush greenery with its beautifully tended lawn; old trees; rose garden; its lovely pond on the terrace with a sitting area shaded by large parasols, and a dining area covered by a beautiful awning supported by columns. Following a day exploring Avignon or the villages and markets of Provence, you will enjoy cooling off in the large heated swimming pool (14 m x 7 m - 45 ft x 22 ft - depth 1 to 2 m), relaxing in the landscaped gardens, or simply enjoying a siesta under one of the covered terraces. The pool is heated in the coolest months.
